• The interior design of the Amsterdam boutique strongly resembles the Floris van Bommel shop that was opened early 2010 in Berlin Mitte. An old hardwood floor, white walls and shelves serve as the basis. Of course Floris added his own twist. He came up with presentation shelves that were all crooked and a corner in which everything, including the cash register and the staircase, is achingly blue. Kevin Bannister, a 'Creature designer' from California drew a several metres high family tree in which 9 generations of Van Bommels are surrounded by monsters, robots and exploding aliens. Floris’s first reaction when he saw the final design: “I think it is cool when things are massively brilliant.”
  
  Toyboxes
  At fashion fairs across the border Floris has gained quite a reputation as a ‘toy artist’. With minimal means Floris manages to put the most innocent toys in the most compromising settings. Several windows in the shop show exclusively what Floris van Bommel is capable of.
  
  Racoon
  During the official opening act, which, at the express wish of the name-giver, will be cutting a ribbon, an in-store performance will be given by Floris’s favourite Dutch band, 'Racoon'.
